Extension Compatible Security Rating EXE YES 5 Description: Windows Executable File Opens with: Runs natively in locked file directory SoftLocker was designed for Executable files and they are very well protected by SoftLocker. Locked files can have demos, cannot be copied, and can run with time limits. If possible you should avoid locking installers and instead lock the executable files that your installer will install. If you must lock an installer you should choose the 'This file is an installer' option which will allow the file to access itself in order to extract its contents. Extension Compatible Security Rating PDF YES 5 Description: Adobe Portable Document Format Opens with: SoftLocker PDF Plugin PDF files are displayed within the SoftLocker PDF plugin, a modified version of Acrobat Reader with the save toolbar disabled. This prevents saving a copy of the file but, in order to prevent copying images, text or printing you must set the appropriate security settings for your PDF document. Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader. That means that SoftLocker can probably lock it, add a demo, and/or make it require a registration code but it will open in it's default program. Depending on how the default program handles the file it may or may not be possible to copy the file at that point. We suggest you test locking the file, and contact our support department with any questions, concerns, or requests for a plugin for your specific file type.
